Newborn clothes?

I know this question has been asked before but now that the clock is ticking and its getting closer to the big day Ive came to realize that I dont have much newborn clothing. I have 4 pack of onesies, 2 sleep and plays and a romper. Everything else is either 0-3 , 3 months or 3-6 etc.

How much newborn clothing did you stock up on? Do you have any suggestions / experiences?

She seems to be measuring on target now. Around 4lbs. or so I find out exactly on Thursday but I dont want to be scrounging for outfits the first few days shes home because every things to big nor do I want to over spend and have clothes be to small.

What to do, what to do!?

Don't spend any money on newborn clothes. Honestly, the baby pulls their limbs into their sleeves and pants anyway, so everything appears to be too big at first. You can roll arm sleeves if they are too long and the baby is swaddled all the time at first

I have 1 newborn outfit and the rest is all 0-3m or bigger. I was told not to really invest in a lot newborn clothing because a lot of babies are born >8lbs (as mine is expected to be) and may never get to wear the newborn clothing. If the baby is smal

I would definitely get more. DS was 7lbs 4oz and wore newborn stuff for a little over a month. I think the sleep and plays are great and if lo grows quickly you can always take stuff back.

I have a few nb items I've purchased or have been gifted - maybe 5ish? and I plan on buying a pack of nb onesies.  Other than that I'll use 0-3 month stuff.  If I happen to have a super small baby, I'll go buy a couple more things as needed, but

Good question to ask! I'm a first-time mom, too, and all the newborn clothes we got at my shower seem ridiculously small! I am glad, though, that they make tiny clothes. My mom has worked with kids for 40 years, and says that it used to be really hard to

I have just a few NB things, but I figure that we won't be going out much the first few weeks and if I really need something after that point, either I or DH can run to the store. I didn't want a bunch of stuff he'd outgrow before he could wear it.

The doc kept telling me Henry was going to be 10 lbs, so we have mostly 3 mos to 12 mos and up!  Then my little peanut decided to come at 33 weeks, and 5 lbs 12 oz now, and we have NOTHING to dress him in!  A major shopping trip is necessary lol

My DD fit into newborn for 6 weeks after she was born. She was born just before 40 weeks at 7lbs 1oz. She was a pretty average size. I ended up having DH run to BRU because I was not prepared to have to put her in newborn size!

It all depends on the size of your baby, DD was only 6 pounds and wore newborn for 3 months.  We have a TON leftover that we'll reuse this time.  But I have friends whose kids wore NB for a week or two.

I only have one actual newborn sized outfit. Then about half a dozen onzies and pjs. I have been told to not waste money on actual newborn size cause a big baby may not wear it at all and need 0 to 3 and the rest of the time they grow super fast so there

Both of my kids were in NB clothes for about 2 months.  My daughter was 8.4 at birth and my son 8.12.  So I'd say YES that you need them.  I have a whole wardrobe of NB clothes for this baby too.

My cousins baby was 8 lb 7oz and is in NB stuff. With some room. So I went and bought a few more NB things. I don't have much but some stuff because the 8lb limit doesn't seem to apply to her little guy.

I have about 8 onesies and about 8 sleepers.  I figured that there would be a lot of clothing changes, even if she only wears then for a little time.  Poop and spit up will happen.
