Shopping Cart Question

At what age did you first put LO in the seat on the shopping cart?  I have a shopping cart seat cover that has straps for his upper body, he can sit unsupported for short intervals and has great head control.  What age or stage of development should they be at before sitting in the cart?  I've been putting his car seat in the cart itself or DH and I go together and one of us pushes B's stroller while the other pushes the cart.  It would be much easier though to go do a full shopping by myself during the day when it's less crowded!

Alice was 4m the first time. She only lasted about 10 minutes before slumping over. I just wear her in the Ergo now. So much easier!

Can you use you baby wearing carrier? That's what I did for DD if I had a big shopping trip. I would say I put her in around 6m but she started sitting on her own a little after she turned 4m. Our cart cover only has the lap belt.

I also wear DD to grocery shop. I've also just popped her car seat in the stroller for small trips when all my stuff will fit in the bottom stoller pocket and/or a hand basket.

D was older than most, around seven months. He could sit at six months, but not wasn't stable until seven.months. from about three months until seven I wore him. Kept him happy longer and I had more room for groceries. Win, win.

DS was almost 6 months when I sat him up in the cart for the first time.  He loved it but did get tired by the end of the trip.  I agree with all the PPs that suggest baby wearing at the grocery store.

DD was 6M the first time. She wasn't quite sitting unassisted yet but she could sit in it okay since it kinda holds them up. She hates it though and still has never sat there for an entire shopping trip. I just use the stroller.
