Vans18, thank you for posting asking for suggestions for handling the bloodwork. We were so prepared from everyone's advice!

The doctor thought it was so smart we had her in a short sleeve onesie with a jacket so I didn't have to move her arms much after everything was done. Love that suggestion, countrygirl. 

Super glad that is over. She got a little fish water squirter as a prize from the doctor which was sweet.

Is bloodwork at 12 month appointments routine???? I am NOT ready for that!!

Mine did it to screen for anemia and lead. Since they were drawing blood anyway, they are checking for nut allergies since my husband has them. 

It seems to vary by pediatrician. No one in my family had heard of a blood draw at 12 mo. I'm su
