Anyone else gaining more weight than they'd like/feel like they should?
I'm 10 weeks and have gained about 8 to 9 pounds. Everything I've read says you're only supposed to gain 5 in the first trimester: clearly, I've blown past that already!
I know exactly why I'm gaining like this: I haven't gone to the gym like I normally do not as often nor as intense of a work out; I've been drinking Ginger Ale to settle my stomach whereas I usually only drink water, so I don't normally intake calories from soda; and, I went through a phase where the only foods I could handle were carbs: potatoes, bread, and noodles. In fact, I went through a good 2 week stretch when I felt sick whenever I didn't have something carb heavy on my stomach.
I'm starting to feel better and think I can get my diet/exercise routine in better order as I head into the 2nd trimester, so I hope this will keep the weight gain under control and maybe even drop a pound or two. I talked to my doctor about it, and he said not to worry; the amount of weight gain I had was fine. Nonetheless, I'm still curious: has anyone else experienced this?
Hoping I'm not the only one feeling a little extra lovin' around the middle :

I'm in the same boat. I'm carrying twins, so I expect to gain a little more, but not too much more than a singleton in the first trimester. I've already gained about 7 pounds at week 11. Its for the same reason as you - way more

At my 8 week appt at the end of Feb I had lost a pound since I went to my annual in early January. I went to my second appt this past Friday and have to admit, I was a little horrified that I have gained 6 lbs since that last appointment. 6
I'm right there with you. I stepped on the scale at my inlaws' yesterday and was up 9 lbs. Same issues with nausea, lack of exercise, crappy diet.
I don't remember gaining this much with DS during the first tri, but I didn't feel as gross, eithe
exactly what you said... especially the carb heavy part... for WEEKS all I CAN eat is carbs!!!! I've stopped weighing myself for now!
