  • We have two dogs and they are both low key. All it really means is more poop... food.. and vet visits! They are good family dogs which helps.

  • What is your current pet's life like right now?  Does he/she get enough love and attention?  Do you have the space for another pet?  Do you feel overwhelmed with 1 pet and one child as it is?  Do you have the time to properly acquaint the new dog into your home and introduce him/her to your first dog?  Has your dog ever been around other dogs?

  • i wish we had never gotten two dogs. i love both of my dogs, but it is a lot to handle. ?i also feel like when you have two, they are more interested in playing with each other than playing with you. ?if i sit down to play with one, they just start biting each other and ignore me.

in general, they are rougher because they play-fight a lot. ?there is a lot more running, jumping, etc. with two than there ever was with one.?

  • I have 4 dogs and a baby (plus 3 cats and a tortoise!).  It's hard, but they all get along so well and they all do so well with the baby that it doesn't bother me too much.  It's just rough when they want to play in the house while the baby is sleeping.  Plus the hair thing drives me crazy!

  • We have 3 dogs.. one of them is a boxer puppy that we got before the baby was born...  It's a little tougher but we make it work!!   we try to spend as much time as possible with the dogs so they don't feel neglected and they love the baby!!

if you really want it, you can make it work!

    Good luck either way :)

  • We have a cat and a dog; I don't think 2 dogs would be much more trouble than one. ?I personally would be open to having another dog, especially if it were an adoption/rescue situation. ?They are the best kind. :)
  • My only complaint with having two dogs is that the barking drives me nuts. If one dog sees the UPS truck across the street and barks, the other dog barks too, and it's really hard to get two dogs under control when you're trying to take care of your LO. The spray bottle gets a lot of use in my house.
  • I have two dogs and love them both.  My only gripe is that they sometimes play rough and then I have to obviously keep the baby away from them because they aren't always paying attention.  So I find myself holding Joey a lot when he'd probably rather by playing with his toys and exploring.
  • thanks everyone for the input! we will see how it goes tonight!
