What do you ladies know about BM's that are bi-polar?  Is this a trait that can be passed on to their kids?  TIA.

    I've actually never heard of it being passed on to children, but I'm definitely not a medical expert! :)  I am a firm believer that the child can be shaped even in the womb by things that effect the birth mom, but I've also seen the nurturing environ

    I'm not an expert but I believe their is some genetic passing down possible as several female family members in my family suffer from bi-polar. Also, check out what medications the EM is currently on and how they are being regulated as some are not saf

    I am catching up.... so forgive me if this has been covered.

    There is a connection w/drug usage and bipolar diagnosis.  Separating the two, if BM has struggled with addiction, can be tough.

    Thank you for the welcome- sorry I haven't posted anything. I'm a lurker. But as an adopted child and having been part of my parent's journey, I really enjoy seeing the process again. I think it helps me cope with my issues, etc...
