Good Morning Ladies, Happy Easter!
So I have a question about my milk and also if anyone has any stories they can share about their experience with this situation or tandem nursing I would love to hear them. I got pregnant with my son when my daughter was just 7 months old, even though it was something my husband and I had wanted I felt a huge amount of guilt from the very beginning about it. I was worried my pregnancy would keep me from having the energy to play with my daughter like I normally do, but fortunately this pregnancy has been incredibly easy.
I wanted to continue breastfeeding Evelyn until she self weaned, no matter what age that ended up being. My Midwives were supportive but kept telling me once I reached 5 or 6 months I would lose my milk supply. I had known plenty of people who had breastfed throughout their entire pregnancy with no issues so I wasn't overly concerned. Since Evelyn was still so young she was nursing constantly especially in the beginning when there were days breast milk is all she would have. I have never pumped or used bottles and I always nurse on demand. Recently I have started noticing that Evelyn has been getting extremely frustrated while nursing switching from breast to breast very frequently and getting fussy, she still tries to nurse all day long.
Finally I decided to self express to see if I had any milk left and I could barely get anything, There are times throughout the day that she seems to be nursing without any problems. I am currently 6 months pregnant and it appears my midwives were correct :,( I feel awful that I may be losing my breastfeeding relationship with her and it has really affected the way I am viewing this pregnancy. Is there anything I can do to help with my milk supply or to encourage her to continue to nurse so that once I have my son I can breastfed them both?
TIA!
Re: Losing my milk :,(
You can definitely keep nursing but it's likely she won't really get much until your colostrum comes in - I imagine she'll let you know when that happens
Some babies will wean if there's no milk and others don't like the taste of colostrum. &n

I nursed DD through my pregnancy. I'm sure I almost if not completely dried up at one point. I say this because she would only nurse before going to sleep but then all of a sudden she was nursing all the time...my colostrum had come in! Now she's nursi
