I've lost 5pounds, but want a candy bar - NOW :-(

I have been cutting way back. No more soda, no more snacking at work during the day, and smaller portions at dinner time. I have lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks (just weighed myself this morning) - 10 more to go. I am craving a candy bar right now. I need the motivation to talk myself out of it. Why oh why is dieting so darn hard!?!

  • You probably won't like my answer, but eat the candy bar. For me, denying myself just  leads to bigger problems. Everything in moderation. Having a candy bar today isn't going to be the end of the world. Continue eating right, and next time you really want something bad enough, have it, just don't go crazy.
  • It's better to have half of it now or even the whole thing instead of having 3 later.  That is how I am with cravings.  Have some and cherish it, just don't do it often!

  • just don't eat a 5 pound candy bar!!
  • have a mini candy bar. You'll do nothing but obsess over it if you don't give in to an occasional craving.

  • Have half today and half tomorrow.  If it wasn't for this dairy free diet, I'd be all over the 100s of candy bars in this house!
