Health & Exercise

I need some advice

Hi all. I had pre eclampsia with my first pregnancy last June at the age of 23. We delivered 3 weeks early at the recommendation of the doctor for health concerns for myself. My daughter was born healthy at 8 pounds. Now we are pregnant again and in the second trimester and I recently got my blood pressure checked and it was 140 over 90. I was concerned enough to call an ER nurse at my hospital who suggested I come in to get tested by them but my husband said he doesn't think we should because "they are just going to tell you to add more diet and exercise to what we are already doing" so as a compromise we went to a local grocery store to check my blood pressure several times to see if I should really drive out and see the nurses. The first reading was high then the last 3 were lower but in the pre hypertension range. That was enough to make my husband more at ease but all I can think about is how having possible pre hypertension this early can lead to having earlier complications in this pregnancy not to mention a higher chance of having preeclampsia again! I really don't know what to do to ease my mind because I can't see my OB until the 22nd of April. That's far away. I will continue to monitor my blood pressure, eat well, and exercise but I feel almost helpless and I feel like if I'm making the necessary changes why isn't my body responding!! Ugh.
