My DS is almost 6 months old and she cries hysterically when I leave her sight. It is especially bad when I have to go to work. She will scream herself into exhaustion, there is no soothing her according to both my mother and DH. DH is at his whits end and when I come home from work he is very obviously stressed. I came inside today and took her from him and she instantly quit crying and he proceeded to say "I'm not leaving I just need to go outside and breathe" and left. Is there anything I can do to help her when I leave? She is not held excessively and plays pretty well by herself when I'm around, but she becomes very distressed if I am gone for too long. I don't know what to do, but DH doesn't want to be left alone with her anymore.... I don't know what else I can do.
I am kind of in the same situation except backwards. If we are around other people and he knows I am there but cannot see me, he SCREECHES until I am holding him. He does ok with others as long as I am not there at all but as soon as I show up to get him
Re: Separation Anxiety
I checked Kelly Mom, and they have some tips.
