Professional pictures??

We were planning to have newborn pictures taken when the babies arrived (assuming they'd be full term), but now I'm not sure what to do.  I don't know if the NICU would allow professional pictures at all so I'd have to ask, but I also am not sure if we should just wait.  We've taken a ton of our own pictures and videos, so it's not like their stay will be undocumented.

What did you do or what would you do??

The nurses are great at taking pics. Atleast where my 24 weeker is who is now 33 weeks. We put her in a easter basket with a bunny hat. If you wanna see pictures reply with ur email. It might give you ideas! I don't know how to upload pictures on here on

Their is a non profit called pictures of hope where local professional photographers volunteer to come into NICU's to do photos. I tried to google the link for you but right now something seems to be going on with their website so maybe check it a little

We actually contacted our wedding photog, who has done additonal shoots with us, and mentioned the pictures of hope program. We wanted to give her the opportunity to do the shoot with us before we contacted another photog, and she totally did it for us fo

We waited until DD2 was discharged from the NICU we did newborn photos at our home. When DD1 was in the NICU they had a photographer come in and take pictures (it was the day before discharge). We used those for her birth announcements.
