DH likes the name Abigail. I do too. But our last name is 2 syllabyls and ends with "well". I think its way too ryhmey. I just want to make sure others agree before I rule it out.

We could call her Abby.. but still..

I don't think it's bad. Unless you're saying the ending of Abigail like Abigelle, there's no issue.

It could be that I have a Jersey accent, but I put a big emphasis on the ail part, like ginger /ale/

Caldwell is close enough. Abigail Caldwell... I still dunno lol. My mom said it sounds like its from a kids storybook.
