Spit up leaving stains?

We FF, and do our best to keep a bib on LO to avoid getting spit up all over.  Sometimes it doesn't work out, haha. Anywho, I noticed today that a lot of the clothes he gets spit up on leave oil-like stains on them. Any other FF moms have this issue? Do you have something you pre-treat with that would get them out? I don't mind, but he's ruining a lot of outfits at a rapid pace. Not that he needs to look like James Bond, but it would be nice to have a few things we can wear out that don't make him look like, to quote my mother, a "raggamuffin." Wink

Re: Spit up leaving stains?

  • BM spit-up is leaving stains on all my burp rags. I haven't noticed on his clothes yet... But he wears a lot of cream/off-white onesies, so they would blend with the stains better ;)

    No advice tho, sorry :/

  • The only thing I have found that REALLY works on spit up and poop stains is an Oxyclean soak. Just dissolve a scoop of the powder in warm water in your sink and soak for a few hours. Works wonders, and way better than any of the bevy of sprays I tried.
  • I just pretreat the spots with Shout before throwing them in the wash. Gets the Similac Soy stains out no problem!

  • I've never found an actual pre-treater that gets stains out, but I use dawn dish soap to pretreat and it's gotten rid of the explosive poop stains my oldest left on her onsies.
