Help...make me feel better please!!

So DC is 9 days old and we gave him his first real bath today because his cord just fell off. I wrapped him up in a hooded towel after he was done and when taking him out of the bath I accidentally bumped his little head on the molding on our wall. He didn't cry or fuss and it didn't seem to phase him at all but it really made me upset. My DH had to top it off by saying honey you need to be more careful because his head is so soft right now. He wasn't bothered by it and since he has taken a nap with no signs of a problem. It didn't seem very hard and his head was covered in a baby hooded towel. Please just help me put my mind at ease...I am still crying I feel so horrible but it was an accident!

  • Your little guy will be fine =) They're tough little things. I've done the same thing once or twice (my poor kids - I'm a huge klutz) and nothing has come of it.

  • Don't worry, he'll be fine.  I am constantly tapping DD's head on something, its just something that happens.
  • He's fine, hon.  It's okay to cry.  I cried about EVERYTHING at 9-days-old.

  • Don't feel bad.  I bumped DS's head at the doctor's office one time.  I was picking him up from the scale and didn't realize that there was a cabinet right above.  He cried for a second and then he was fine.  I felt like an idiot and was worried that the nurse would think I was a terrible mother.
  • Don't worry about it! I can understanding crying about it because I was so emotional at 9days PP that I cried if I saw someone hit their head on TV.  But think about what their little bodies just went through during birth... they are strong little creatures.
  • Aw, it's okay! It may be the first time but it won't be the last. ;)

    they're resilient little buggers.

  • Thanks so much ladies....your so supportive and I am glad that I can turn to the nest when I need comfort and to know I am not the only one out there that makes mistakes! You have made me feel alot better!!!
  • I did that with DD last week on the door frame, she cried, for about 10 seconds and that was the end of it. ?She is fine!
