Clomid when you already ovulate

We've been diagnosed with unexplained infertility. I've aced all my tests and my husband has super sperm (a.k.a. REALLY good test results). We wanted to start with the least invasive option: clomid. I ovulate on my own every month, no problem, but the idea, as I'm sure you all know, is that this will make me pop out more eggs and up our chances. It didn't work the first month. We're going to try it for 2 more months and then move on to IUI. But I just read that clomid has really low success rates for women that are already ovulating. The success stories I'm seeing are all from women who took it to get them to ovulate. Will someone please tell me they've heard of "already ovulating women" having success?

I've only heard of this happening once...but maybe on another board people may know more about those situaitons.  Most of us would take clomid with another procedure like IUI. My doctor recommended it b/c clomid is already pretty tough on your body,

Yes, I meant get pregnant. I hadn't noticed the sucess after IF board. That's a good idea. I'll conduct a poll there. Thanks!

I ovulate and CLomid was prescribed to get a "stronger" ovulation but my RE didn't see much change and thought the risks outweighed the reward and switched me to injectibles.

I ovulated on my own too.  I took 7 cycles of Clomid and then 1 on Femara and injects.  Yes, I did get pregnant on my 4th cycle of Clomid but m/c at 8w.  Clomid made me NUTS and Femara and injects were much easier to tolerate.

The rates of success aren't as high because its not very aggressive as far as treatments go. Especially for unexplained.

We are unexplained (for the most part) IF as well.  I ovulate regularly on my own, but I do have low progesterone.  I did one round of clomid with my OB/GYN and it increased my progesterone levels. We had the option of doing either clom

I ovulate on my own, have Unexplained Infertility, and am taking 100 mg. of Clomid with my IUI cycles. I did one cycle of 50 mg. Clomid before IUI, with my OB, but my RE said that Clomid on it's own really wouldn't do anything for me, and paired with IUI

I just took does #4 last night and other than the "hot flash" the very first night (again, possibly psychosomatic), everything has been pretty normal. I am sorry to hear about your stomach getting upset - that is awful.
