My DH is planning on using FMLA to take off a total of 4 weeks for the birth of DD. He is going to take 2 weeks when she is first born and then take an additional 2 weeks off when I go back to work. Does anyone have any experience in what DH will have to do paperwork-wise? Has anyone had a positive/negative experience with DH/SO taking FMLA?

Yes. He took 2 weeks off through FMLA. There is paperwork that he has to fill out. He can get it from HR. In addition, your doctor will have to fill out some paperwork for his FMLA as well.

I am surprised that some of your DH's were allowed so much time off when you work at the same agency.
