Baby Names??

We are a little over 10 weeks along and just went to our first ultrasound!  I wanted to pick out names for a boy and girl so when we find out what we are having we can have a name picked out.  But... every name I love or like, my husband or mother don't like it, have something bad to say or pick it apart.  Its a little discouraging :(  I know they mean well and I want their input but  just feel defeated already.. just wondering if others have dealt with this and how to make it an easier process.

Re: Baby Names??

  • My mother dislikes all names that aren't biblical, soooo... I stopped even discussing it with her, because I knew what her reaction would be.

My SO and I went through a few days of not liking any of the same names, and them BAM.. We landed o
  • Me and my husband have had different opinions on names. We have a girls name settled. He was totally cool with the name I liked but when it comes to a boys name he is very difficult. We have it narrowed down to 2 which i'm not crazy about but he was so co

  • Me and DH are having a heck of a time agreeing on any boy names. We have at least one girl name we both feel pretty good about. We are not telling anyone else our name choices or ideas until the baby is out. We want to avoid any opinions people may have t

  • I have no idea about baby names. I haven't even gotten that far yet. Everyone keeps asking and then I hear lots of stories of names people don't like. So when I finally get excited, i will probably keep it to myself. Wait, there was one name I liked so fa

  • yeah, that is why we keep names to ourselves until the baby is born.  :)    picking DD's name was just between DH and i and it did take many months to settle on; it's a big decision!  so it was a surprise to everyone when she was

  • Thank you for the replies.  I am very close to my mother so its difficult for me to ignore her opinions but if I feel that it is making the process more difficult I will just keep my suggestions to myself until the hubby and I can decide because that
  • We are having a heck of a time settling on a boy name, but do have a girls name ready to go. When we were still batting around girls names that we liked, we shared with our family and each name we loved got picked apart, made fun of and generally squas

  • We told both sets of parents our name idea for our son...they hated it so much that we decided on something different, but did not ask for their or anyone else's opinion! We told everyone his name after he was born so no one could question it lol. We plan
  • I've had my names picked out for years for the most part. I did tweak middle names for the boys to please my husband. For some reason he wanted to name my boys after my father and brother in law. I am not a huge fan of either of the names, but it's whatev
  • Sorry my phone is being stupid. The boys names are Kaison Russell or Maison Douglas. My girls name I originally had to change because my husband absolutely hates it. But hey the baby is coming out of me so I might just use it anyway. I love love Hero Melo

  • We have decided that I will pick the girl name and H will pick the boy name this time.  Naturally if one of us pick a name the other one can't stand we will move on to another.  Our parents have no say in our choice.  We have chosen either

  • We didn't discuss names until we knew DS was a boy.  We'll do the same this time.  That way there are less names to decide between. I keep a list in my head of names I like. DH won't think of any until it is time.

    With DS my dad didn't
