IL rant

I've been meaning to get on a s post my birth story but haven't had the chance yet, but I'm currently fuming too much over this inlaw situation to take the nap I should be taking right now. Sorry, this is long and ranty, and might seem worse in my head because I'm sleep deprived.

Last night was our first night home with LO, and MIL asked how she did, and DH said I was up with her most of the night because she wouldn't sleep on her own and kept wanting to be fed, and after neither of us had slept all night, I finally let her sleep on me in the recliner so we both got a couple of little naps. MIL clicked her tongue and said not to spoil her like that because we are making it so she can never sleep alone. Um, I'm sorry, if my 2dayold baby can only sleep on me, I'm going to let her. And then they asked about her appt today with her pediatrician, and he said how he is having us start to supplement her breastfeedings with an ounce of formula since we are at the 72 hour mark and my milk hasn't come in yet, so she then makes a big deal about how we haven't been feeding her enough before that, and how much weight she has lost, even though her pediatrician told me there was absolutely no need to supplement with formula until after 72 hours, and she just kept going on and on about this. Oh, and when they got to our house, they immediately went into LO's room, where she was FINALLY napping by herself for the first time ever, and they proceeded to bug her and wake her up. Really?? Who goes to someone's house and wakes up their newborn?

  • Ugh, I could have written this, except my MIL would be thrilled to hear we were supplementing with formula. I've never mentioned a timeline for BFing, but somehow she's gotten it in her head that I am going to be one of "those women who are still BFing a
