Annoying Rant

Maybe if I type this out here I will avoid a stupid fight later.

DH is on spring break, and my parents are in town visiting. They are currently staying elsewhere, but will be over at our house tonight.

DH took DD to daycare today, so he was home on his own. I asked him to vacuum and put away his enormous pile of clothes that he has left out for ages. He just called to tell me that he vacuumed, but didnt get his clothes put away because he spent 2.5 hours writing thank you notes for a job interview he just did.

So I did the math...he was home alone for at least 8 or 9 hours today. Minus 2.5 hours for the thank you notes. That leaves at least 5.5 waking hours to vacuum and put away the clothes. And no way vacuuming took more that 30 minutes.

Is it ok that I am annoyed? Your clothes have been sitting out for months, and you have a free day - take an hour and put them away so our house doesnt look like a giant hamper!

  • I would be pissed.  I also wouldn't let it go. That's ridiculous.  I'm a little confused at how thank you notes took 2.5 hours.  How many thank you notes did he have to write?  Aside from that, there is absolutely no reason, considerin

  • I would be pissed. My DH is the same way. He has a giant pile on his side of the bedroom that he won't put up, yet if I touch it, woe be unto me.

  • If I don't put away the clean clothes they then become the cushion between the dirty clothes and the floor.
"What are you having?" "Well the radiologist says its a healthy little human baby. I'm a little disappointed, because I really wanted a puppy." LOL
  • My DS used to do the same thing and I did fight about it, several times and now he doesn't anymore. Even if it's the last hour his has "off", sh!t is done.

  • If the laundry pile was visible to guests I'd probably toss the crap in the garage - because I'm guilty of doing that with stuff that isn't put away.  (toys, dh's shoes)

Isn't it amazing how if we had a day off we'd be plotting what to cle

  • I'd be pissed. DH does stuff like this quite a bit, so I feel your pain. He is a teacher and has crazy amounts of time off (where DS is still at daycare), and it baffles me how he can't manage to get very basic things done that I ask. We also have a maid
