Starting with foods

We tried to start last weekend, but DD2 got sick, so we started again last night on oatmeal.  We do oatmeal for a few days, then start introducing the veggies and then fruits (stage 1)?  Right? 

When do we start with multiple meals, right now she's only having 1 a day. 

I feel like I should know this, but I can't remember anything we did with DD1!

    You can start them in any order you want.  My pedi told me yesterday to give her 3-5 days between foods.  She said up until a year, solids is more about teaching them than giving them nutrition.  Feed them what they'll eat, as long as th

  • I skipped oatmeal because LO refused to eat it. I went straight to orange foods then veggies then fruit. Now I just mix whatever I think sounds good. His fave is broccoli peas and pears.

  • Our pedi recommended skipping cereal altogether, and just start with veggies and fruits.  He also suggested waiting several days before introducing a new food, but I disregarded that (it'll take forever to get through all the veggies!).

  • I tried two meals a day but it was too much work, so we're back on one meal a day. It's more about textures and flavours for now, as PP said, not nutrition, so I'm happy with the one meal.
