Parenting after a Loss

Diaper ?

I usually cloth diaper, and have not had any issues. I have been try disposables over the past 2 weeks, as I plan on using them at daycare and for travel. So far I have found a few that work well during the day, but overnight has been nothing but leaks. Most of my friends say pampers are the best, but we have leaked every time we tried.
My question: anyone have any secrets to make a diaper last through the night? Should I go up a size even though he is a small size 2 about 13 lbs?
Thanks for any advise!

Re: Diaper ?

  • Definitely try going up a size at night. I pretty much ignore the size range and go by absorbency.

  • We started using the "overnight" variety diapers (Pampers Extra Protection or something like that) fairly early to help with leaks. They do pretty well with an occasional leak still. Until lately, we've had him in one size larger than his normal size to

  • Is your baby long and skinny or short and fat?  Short and fat = Huggies.  Long and skinny = Pampers.

Peeing out of the diaper usually does mean going up a size.  However, if your LO is BF, then the BM poops are going to fly

  • My dd started leaking really bad, she pees sooo much. We were in pampers size 3, we tried 4s and huggies. She still leaked every night. So I tried Target brand. She still has some leaks, but nothing like it was.

  • Go up a size. DS wears size 3 during the day, 4 at night.

ETA - we use pampers baby dry. His diaper looks like it's going to explode by morning but he's dry.

  • We use Huggies overnight and haven't had a problem. I heard a recommendation that if your LO sleeps in their stomach then to put te diaper on backwards.
