Intro and question about finding a surrogate

Good Morning Ladies. My history is in my siggy, but the short version is that DH and I suffered our 6th miscarriage this month and have decided to stop trying to conceive. I have no problem getting pregnant, but staying pregnant is a different story. I don't think I'm emotionally strong enough to go through another loss without answers.

We are looking into surrogacy and have an appointment with a clinic to discuss the process in a few weeks. The clinic does not have surrogates associated with their practice and we would need to use an agency/find our own. For those of you using a surrogate to start or expand your family, what types of things do you look for in an agency? Thanks.

  • It's beyond overwhelming at the beginning.  Personally, I spent more time than I'd like to admit to researching the whole subject.  I would definitely check out surromomsonline.com and allaboutsurrogacy.com The forums are a wealth of information

  • One more thing- You'll also need to consider the state in which you live.

I just moved from Ohio- very surro friendly- to Washington state.... less surro friendly. As a result, the agencies with whom I could work were widdled from endless t

  • I'm a little late to the party here but wanted to add my 2 cents...

I've also had several miscarriages.  I'm on my 7th pregnancy (7 weeks left!) and also have a 4yo son.  I have compound hetero MTHFR and anticardiolipen antibody.
