according to my cousin's myspace status: "my parents just dropped a bombshell....my mom's pregnant!"

they have 3 kids already, 16, 14 and 11.  the whole family is excited, but in the back of our minds there is definitely some nervousness because of the increased risk.  so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers 

she thought she was hitting menopause....ha!

Congrats to her.  My aunt had one baby at 41, then another at 43...their older kids were 16 and 18!  They thought menopause both times, too.

 

ETA: Both babies are not only perfect healthwise, but they're really awesome kids.  Smart, beautiful, well-behaved.  They're 4 and 6 now.  I'm sure your new cousin will be healthy.

Reminds me of DH's family.  DH is 27 and has an 11 year old brother.  She, too, thought she was going through menopause!

My 41 year old aunt was pregnant at the same time I was (pic of us in my bio)- her baby girl was born 12 days after DS!  Pretty crazy but very fun.  Hope all goes well for your aunt too!

MIL got pg with SIL when she was 42.  DH was 13 at the time and his brothers were 14 and 18.   all was well!

One of my aunts had her last child at 42.  She's now 50 and has an 8 year old.

DH was adopted because IL's were told they couldn't have kids, 16 AND 17 years later he gets a sister and a brother, his mom was 44 and 45 years old.  Oops, lol
