My almost 3 year old holds her poo, sometimes, for up to a week. To get her to go, I have to force her to sit on the potty for up to an hour. When she goes, it's ENORMOUS. She's been doing this for 9 months. I'm at my wit's end. Any advice?!?
Make sure she's drinking plenty of water. We also mix Miralax into dd's milk or water on a daily basis (I do about 3/4 a tablespoon - spread out through out the day).
If it has been a few days since she's gone have her eat some prune
DD1 did this for 5 months. She would hold it for 7-10 days and be miserable. She was terrified to poop on the potty. I called the nurse line multiple times and tried everything I could find to try and help her and none of it worked.
My DD does the same thing. Incredibly frustrating! She will jump around, kick her legs while on the toilet and just says she is scared of poop. She doesn't have accidents, but sometimes it can be an all day thing of her running back and forth to the bathr
Ugh, any idea how long this "phase" will last? It's so frustrating!!! I don't know how to make it less scary. Mine is the same; after she's done she's happy and proud of herself.
Oh my gosh, I feel your pain. DS won't poop until he absolutely has to. Then he's on the potty for half an hour, pooping the whole time. At least half oft he times he goes, I have to get the plunger out to be able to flush. I'm hop
Ditto on the Miralax, plus lots of fiber and lots of water. DD will hold it as long as she possibly can, but with the Miralax and fiber it is harder to hold and she will go daily.
