Intro / Pediatrician Question

Hi ladies, I have been lurking but haven't posted yet. My daughter Anna is a former 26 weeker who is now 37 weeks and we are close to getting out of the NICU but still working on feeding. Anna had a grade 4 IVH on the right, grade 2 on the left and has large PVL and porencephaly on the right with non progressive hydrocephalus. Obviously we can't be sure what this will mean for her future, but based on the abnormal reflexes she is already showing we know we have a tough road ahead.

We are interviewing our first pedi tomorrow. Are there any questions you asked or would have like to ask before signing on with them?

  • ToastieSimoms, thank you for your input! I'm glad your DS picked up suck/swallow. For a while they thought A had dysphagia and was silently aspirating but she seemed to figure it out, now it's just about building endurance.

    I hadn't thought

  • I would also ask your specialists for recommendations.  Our pedi came highly recommended by our neurosurgeon and cardiologist when we asked for a peds rec.  needless to say, when both separately recommended the same person, we felt pretty con
