Irregular periods

Has anyone else had trouble with their periods after being on bc for an extended period of time?

I was on bc for about 5 years when I stopped taking it last April (started taking it at 17 and stopped when I was 22.) I started out having just slightly irregular periods but in the last 6 months I have only had 2 periods. I haven't had a period since January 3. I went and saw my dr who did some blood work to test my hormones and thyroid but when I called back and talked to the nurse she said all levels were normal. 

The dr doesn't want to see me again for another 6 months (until I have been ttc for 18 months) and to keep track of my periods, which obviously isn't hard at this time

 Has anyone else had a similar problem?

When I went to the dr I was already past the 60 days but she never mentioned any medication. I may call them tomorrow and ask about it.

I was on oral bc the whole time, it was called avaine. I was hoping the blood work would have given some answers as to what's going on.
