So I just got off of the phone with a VP from the company that's acquiring the company I work for. The crazy part is, I had no idea we were being sold or merged or whatever! I'm sure I sounded real smart as I stammered trying to come up with something to say after she told me who she was. So I was kind of on the spot trying to tell her everything my job entails 5 seconds after learning that the company is being sold.
Now I'm just trying to decide whether to call the president and ask him what in the world is going on. It's a small company (less than 25 people) so I talk to him on a semi-regular basis. Would that be weird? I don't even know what I would say.
Sorry, I know this is probably boring to everyone but me, but I had to share with somebody older than 8 months.
Re: Crazy phone call
They should not be contacting employees directly until an official announcement is made. You should let the president, or at least the next person up the ladder, know this is going on.
