Since you're the resident Babywearing Whisperer, I'm just going to address my BW questions to you from now on.
I bought 6 yards of muslin to create my own woven wrap. After washing, it's shrunk down to enough to do a basic ruck style carry on my back with the tails tied behind me (not in front) or to do a chest belt with.
My question is this... Every time I try to tie my son onto my back using that carry, I can't seem to get the seat to stay put and it ends up riding up, leaving his support to the rails under his legs. Clearly, not a correct nor safe carry.
It seems that DS's legs don't straddle my back well enough to get a proper seat. He's 6.5 months old, and I'm a pretty small gal, so I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong! lol...
I know it's best to have a picture, but I don't have one handy. Any off the cuff trouble shooting thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know about babywearing whisper but I'll see what I can do
The trick to any sort of ruck is to focus on tightening the top rail and don't overtighten the bottom rail - that's what's causing your bum popping. Have you watched any goo
