Scar Thickness

I usually just lurk here, but last Friday I had my 12-week appointment for baby #2. I have spoken with my doc's office during my first two appointments, and both times have been told that between 32-36 weeks, they would do a u/s to measure the thickness of the scar. If the scar was thick enough, we would go the VBAC route. If the scar was not thick enough, they would want me to schedule an RCS for 39 weeks. I've done a lot of reading about VBACs and haven't read anything so far about scar thickness.  Has anyone had experience with this? Has your doc measured scar thickness to determine whether or not you can/should VBAC?

Scar thickness wasn't even mentioned at my visits. The only thing that we talked about was which direction that the scar went and what type of sutures /stitches were used.

Scar thickness has never been proven to correlate with VBAC success or failure. Frankly, I would refuse to have it measured. Do they require it for VBAC? Would you be willing to look around for another provider?

My doctor's office required it too.  From what I've seen there is no actual proven correlation between the two.  However my doctor is probably the most pro VBAC (with a high success rate as well) doc in our area, so I just kind of went along wit
