Tugging at left ear

DD just started tugging at her left ear, what does that mean? Would I call the pedi? I just found out that all the kids in my family have a history of chronic fluid in the ears. Help! TIA

    Tugging the ear could just mean that she's tired. But always good to call the pedi if you're concerned. Maybe check her temperature too??

    She could have an ear infection. However my DS started tugging his ear after his ear infection was gone because he just discovered it was there.

    I would take her temp and look to see if it is red. If she has a temp or seems uncomfortable I would call the pedi.

    I've heard that it can be an ear infection (like pps have said) or it could be teething. Either way, check her temp, look in her ear(s) and see if there's any pus. If she's got a fever, I would call the doctor. Good luck.

    Took her temp last night and this morning and normal. Nothing in her ear so I don't know. Just waiting for the pedi to open so I can call. Thanks everyone for your help!
