Would you consider going on a child free vacation? If so, what age do you think is appropriate? Where would you go?

Of we had the money right now we would be going OOT for DH's 30th bday in a couple of weeks. I'm ready. DD was 8 months old the first time we went on a child free vacay and it was wonderful!

I'm not ready right now, for sure.  And to be honest, we don't go on vacation much anyway, so if we did go, I'd like to do something as a family first.  We have plenty of time for solo vacations.

I think it totally depends on when YOU are ready. If you've never left her before, a week might be really long. You don't want to spend your trip upset because you've been away too long - that's what happened to me at least, on our first postbaby vacation

We've never been on a vacation but we planned an overnight for our 2 and a half year belated honeymoon for march, then we got orders to England so that got canceled. So we would have left her overnight with her grandparents for a night at 6 months.

Personally, I think that wanting to go away with DH is one thing, and not wanting to leave the baby is another. Sure, I'll miss the baby, but parenthood is only one part of my person-hood.
