Baby Names

Opinions on girl names, please!

We are expecting baby #1 this summer and it's a girl - Of course we had our boy name picked out but no girl name. DH loves Brinley (perhaps because it has the same style/feel as my name? I don't know) and I like too many names to pick. Our last name starts with H and is one syllable so I like longer FNs. Please give me your opinions on those on our list thus far:

Brinley Elizabeth

Eliana (thinking MN of Nicole)

Aralyn (MN Elizabeth?) - pronounced Air-uh-lyn

Adriana Elizabeth

Any other suggestions are welcome if you have them! Thank you in advance Smile

  • I like Eliana the best.  I also like Brinley, but know a boat load of people who are naming their daughters Brinley so I have a feeling it's going to be in the next wave of common names.
  • I've actually never heard the name Brinley before. I think it's very cute especially paired with Elizabeth!

  • Really really dislike Brinley. I do like all the others in this order Adriana, Eliana, Aralyn. Also I went to school with a girl and her name was just Ara and I always liked that.
  • I like Adriana the best.  Brinley sounds like a last name or a dog's name and is way too trendy, and the others will have pronunciation issues.
  • Brinley sounds like a bit of a stretch. The others are pretty!

  • I don't like that Brinley means "Burnt Meadow."

Eliana I like. The name has steadily climed in popularity sine the 1990s. It's 150 now, and headed for top 100 or higher. I personally don't choose trendy names, but if it doesn't bother you,

  • My choice would be Adriana Elizabeth

  • Adriana Elizabeth.  This is very pretty.

I don't like Brinley because it does not seem feminine to me although I love Brynn.  Aralyn looks made up.  Eliana is not my style.

  • Eliana and Adriana are both fine, though not my style.  I would not pronounce Aralyn the way you want it pronounced, so I think that could cause a lot of confusion.  I really dislike Brinley.  I like your middle name ideas and would prefer

Eliana is the only name on your list that I can sort of get behind.

    The others are disasters... especially

Adriana would be the only one I would choose. I very much dislike Brinley. The other two are nms.

  • Eliana and Adriana are my favorites. Not a fan of Brinley or Aralyn. Elizabeth and Nicole are both as nice (as middles or firsts) too.
