I found Alessia on Nameberry.com.  I would guess that one would pronounce this as Ah-less-ee-ah (soft first and last "a").  Would that be the proper pronunciation?

Your interpretation of the pronunciation seems right to me. I knew a really skeezy Alessio so the name is ruined for me :

I would pronounce it Ah.lee.see.ah since it is the feminine variant of Alessio which I pronounce Ah.lee.see.oh but FWIW I'm not fond of either name.

My friend (American) just had her baby in Italy and named her Alessia (an Italian name). It's pronounced like the American Alexia, but with an S for the X.
