Infertility

Intro/Question/Minor vent

Hi everyone!  It's been a while since I have been on the boards and the first time posting here.  Last year I had an ectopic pregancy in June and then a miscarriage around week 6 at the end of November with a D&C in December.  Ended up going to an RE a week after my D&C to get a better idea of possible fertility issues.  After a bunch of tests, the only thing they found was that I don't properly absorb folic acid and they put me on some super vitamin.  I had already been previously diagnosed with PCOS so I never get my period and my two unsuccessful pregnancies were the result of the two times I had taken Clomid.

So now I am on a Clomid/Bravelle/Ovidrel/Timed Intercourse/Progesterone regimen.  I am going to get U/S and blood work done for the 3rd time tomorrow and hoping the three follicles get bigger cause right now they measure a 10.  All I found out the other day was that the follicles are supposed to measure 18 or more.  Can anyone give me insight into what I should be expecting?  Or any success with this?

The RE isn't very informative and I really have no choice of where to go because I live in the country and this is the closest place to go (45 min away).  They keep bringing me in every two days to monitor progress, but I just have this feeling that the first couple of times is just to get my co-pay.  The nurse said the follicle size should increase by 1-2/day so why did they bring me in to monitor blood worka nd do U/S less than 12 hours after they instructed me to take my first Bravelle shot. I think I am just frustrated because my insurance does not cover any infertility treatment and these meds are expensive on top of the 3, $35 co-pays a week I have to pay to get bloodwork and U/S done.

This is all so foreign to me.  Reading all of posts is helpful.  I hope for me and everyone on here that our time on this board will end shortly and we can move on to diaper changing and sleepless nights.

  • I don't have any great advice... sounds like you are doing IUI? but I hope this regimen goes well for you. I do know that follicles on stims should grow 2mm a day ish. That's what I know from IVF. It's frustrating to go in so frequently, but hopefully the

  • The every other day monitoring is legit.  They need to monitor and take bloodwork to make sure you are not overstimulating and see how things are progressing.  lots of luck to you!
