Folklore, if you will, generally makes the MIL the most intolerable in-law to every woman. I read on here that several of us have FILs who fit the bill more than MILs.
So, which is worse for you? MIL or FIL?
Mine, though each have weird traits about them, would be my FIL. I personally haven't heard from the guy since our wedding over 2 years ago. He sorta always made me feel uncomfortable by trying to be too easygoing and likeable. Plus, he's remarried since being with DH's mom and he married a girl he met while on business in China who is only a year or two older than DH's older brother (who is only a year or two older than DH). Talk about weird. FIL doesn't even talk to DH anymore now. His wife got PO'd at us for not acknowledging her as a "mom" figure at our wedding (she totally isn't a mom figure to us by any means) and DH and FIL fought it out days after DS was born and they ended up deleting each others phone numbers. Oh and he blamed me for him never seeing DH anymore. Whatever, dude.
Re: In-laws
Mine would def be my MIL. She is a lazy manipulative witch that throws fits when everything is not about her or goes her way.
I can deal with FIL. He is an alcoholic, so let him know he isn't allowed to drink or be drunk when he visits with DD. O
