Easter Eggs

So, we've decided not to do an Easter basket because she's not old enough to "get it" and with just having moved I don't have the energy to put that much thought into it...

BUT

I think she would have a blast doing an Easter egg "hunt" (aka going around the house and finding eggs we've placed out, figuring out they open, and enjoying the surprise inside.

This is where I need you ladies' help.

What would you recommend to put inside them??  My sister said she did goldfish.  I personally think it would be more fun to put in some kind of small toy-type thing that she can entertain herself with, or at least a variety of treats.

Thoughts? Plans?

I'm kind of thinking the opposite, that my little one will enjoy the basket more than understanding the egg hunt. I put a lot of effort into it last year for my then two year old, and he quickly got bored and gave up. I think this will be the first year h

I was just thinking about this yesterday! I know J loves wandering around and "finding" things on the floor, so I think if we make the eggs obvious (no real hiding, just lying around), he'll have fun with an egg hunt.

I agree that they can't really "hunt" eggs, I probably wasn't clear enough that her "hunt" will actually be going around and "finding" eggs that are laid all around the house out in the open

Target has some very big Easter eggs in the dollar section. Maybe try a few of those for the hunt.

We're going to do an egg hunt (but we'll have the older cousins come over too), but with the real dyed eggs.  They will be bright and fun to find, but she doesn't need candy or tiny plastic toys.  We also aren't having a basket at our house this

We always do hardboiled, dyed eggs, but since she loooooves shaking things, we're going to do a few plastic ones as well - I'm doing raisins, Cheerios, cheddar bunnies, and graham bunnies.
