Pack N' Play Necessary?

Is a pack n' play something you can live without? My shower is this weekend and I am fairly certain we will have a few big ticket items that we will have to buy ourselves. If you had a choice between a pack n' play or rock n' play which would you choose? I am leading towards a rock n' play and would love to hear opinions on which is better to get and why.

Pack and play! We got so much use out of ours.

I would get the pnp. The RNP can only be used for a few months and then you have to deal with trying to get your baby to sleep in a crib. If you get a pnp you can bring it with you when you travel and can use it until your child is around 2.

I'd wait and see on both.  Neither are day one necessities if you have a bouncer already too.  We only used our PNP for DD when we lived in an apt and it was her bed for 3 mos.  Both our parents have cheap ones, so traveling wasn't a req

We had both, but if you are choosing between the two, I'd personally go with the PNP.  It all depends on your situation though.  We used it as the bassinet and use it for when we travel, which can be quite often since my family is out of state.&

Rock n play. It is hands down my must have baby pick. We got a PnP free from the manufacturer and only use it as a changing table. She has reflux and can't sleep flat and only wants to he in the RnP. She doesn't even like swing or bouncer!
