Breech at AS

I was told baby was breech at my AS. I know it isn't anything to be worried about yet but I'm curious how many of you have the same thing? With DD she was never breech so this is just different. I know there is still time for her to flip but I'm still a little concerned. I go to the chiropractor once a week which I'm told can help too.

Re: Breech at AS

  • You still have at least 12-14 weeks before any concern. You're baby can flip multiple times a day, you're only 20w...Not sure what you're concern is.

  • Mines breech more than not! I've been feeling kicks in my butt and then my doctor confirmed at my anatomy scan that the little guy loves the breech position. It's no problem until 30 plus weeks
  • My boy is breech too. I think he's stayed that way since all the kicks I feel are very low. As others said, I'm not worried yet.  And though I'd love to not need a c section, if he stays breech it is what it is and I'll deal.

  • if you are that worried check out spinningbabies.com there are several stretch positions you can do to encourage baby to move head down. I started these around 24 weeks with DS and he snuggled head down and stayed there.

  • My recent ultrasounds:

    3/11 - breech

    3/18 - head down

    3/20 - breech

It means nothing at this point, too much room to move.

  • My LO would sometimes be breech then not. I cant remember the exact percentage but my doc said the chance of the baby being breech once you go into labor is pretty low like 3%.She wasnt breech in the end.

  • My little guy was breech at the A/S too. But like PP said, there's still plenty of time to flip. No worries!

  • I had a U/S at 13 wks. one was head up, one was head down. the doctor said in progressive scans I'll see them swapping places, spinning around... so I wasn't at all worried. I'm sure baby will cooperate

  • They flip around so much...I'm sure quite a number of AS of various babies have shown a breech baby. Two minutes later, they might be head down, and an hour later, back to breech.
  • I think the only reason they tell you the position is just in case you wanted to know. Every time I have seen my twins I am told one is over the cervix twin A (inferior) and the other one is right above (superior). With my situation I think they like t

  • DS2 is breech more often than not, but he flips back and forth every couple of days. He usually stays head-down for an hour or two and flips back. As PPs have said, this is not even a consideration until mid-third tri.

You only have to start worrying about baby's position at 34-36 weeks. By then, baby is too big to turn and will more

  • Baby B actually flipped during the a/s from breech to head down. There's still a lot of room in there, so don't worry.

  • They have tons of room to move at this point. I'm sure his position changes all the time.  The earliest I think they start to settle is around 30 weeks, and even then, they can still flip.

  • I was surprised, one of the first things my regular doctor told me about the results that she had from my NT scan was that baby was breech.  Obviously she said the baby had plenty of time to turn.  I thought it strange that she even mentioned it

  • Our LO has been breech at the 20 a/s scan and we just had another u/s at 26 weeks but like pps have said, there is still plenty of time for baby to move into the head head down position.  So no need to worry.

  • You are still so early, so I wouldn't worry.

My DD was breech until 37-38 weeks and still somehow managed to flip herself. It hurt like hello, but I was glad she managed it.
