Question about cortisone shot and charting

Hi ladies, I knows have been MIA lately as I have just been waiting for my cycle to get back to normal after my m/c last month.  But I would love some thoughts or opinions on this: I did have a light af starting on march 11, about a month after m/c, although according to my temps I did not ovulate between m/c and period.  On Tuesday, cycle day 9, I had to get a cortisone injection due to a super bad flare up of eczema that has been going on for the last month. I am also using steroid cream on my skin until it clears.  The next morning, Wednesday, my temps were up about half a degree then Thursday and this morning they were up another half degree - which is usually my pattern when I ovulate.  (I'm sorry I don't know exactly how to link to my ff chart on here or I would!)  so Tuesday before shot I had a slight dip in temp, followed by a half degree increase then another half degree increase for the next two days, showing that ovulated Tuesday on cd 9.  My question is: if the cortisone shot affected my temps and caused them to be higher instead of me actually ovulating.  I have never ovulated on cd 9, although 11 is normal and I have on cd 10 before, so 9 isn't crazy.  Also since I haven't ovulated since the mc things might still be off? Unfortunately I hadn't been paying too much attention to other signs of ovulation.... Just trying to figure this out!  Thanks ladies!

Re: Question about cortisone shot and charting

  • I have never had cortisone effect my cycle but a lot of meds can and everyone reacts different. The mc definitely could effect ovulation. It has for me in the past. I'm routing for you! I just started my cycle Wednesday but since we're on a break I'm just

  • Have you taken an OPK? Maybe that could help you with determining if you are actually ovulating.  Or you could see if your dr could run a progesterone test to help determine as well.  I too have severe eczema and actually took off this past c

I keep wondering if the eczema is impacting my ability to get pg.  Do you know what causes your eczema

  • And thanks to both of you for your input. I am glad to know that cortisone shots havent affected your temps, iloveshane. I feel that it was an actual ovulation rather than the temps making them go up since they have been holding steady at almost the exact
