Bunny Allergies

Today while picking up some cat food at the feed store they asked if we would like to go see the new bunnies. Alissa has never seen bunnies so I figured she'd like to. Of course, she did! She kept calling them kitties and got to touch one.

Well about an hour later, I noticed she had hives on her arms and then on her legs. Seeing as how the only new thing we did was touch bunnies, I think she's allergic to bunnies.

Even though she only touched one, they were all in a big metal trough which did lean against, is that still enough contact to cause a hive outbreak? The only other thing that's caused hives is Aveeno and we haven't changed lotions in months.

Re: Bunny Allergies

  • There's so much crap at a feed store I would think it would be hard to tell.

Waa there hay in the trough as well? There could have been some kind of animal something on the trough.

I would think that if it is bunnies it wouldn't

  • Both of my kids have had unexplained hives. It could have been the bunnies, but I would just keep this experience in mind the next time you are in the situation to confirm.
