Elowen or Calista?

Hello,

DH and I are currently trying to conceive and I am probably puting the cart in front of the horse thinking names but...we have two girl names that we currently equally love that I would love some input on.

Elowen - I am obsessed with Welsh names and it would have the same nickname as my grandmother's name Ellie (she was Eleanor).  Love this but unsure about getting on the Ellie wagon. DH likes the nickname Winnie, I would prefer to use the whole name.

Calista- DH's great aunt who never had children, I just think is very pretty.

Middle name options right now are Clare, Jane, or Sally. 

Any input?

I like both names, but Elowen sounds fairly masculine to me. El Owen.  Calista is cute, to be sure.  I do love Welsh names as well though.  I've never heard Elowen, before. I have heard Elwyn though, and I think it is a little less masculin

Both names are beautiful.  Yeah, there are a lot of Ellies.  I would recommend Winnie as a nickname for Elowen if you don't want your daughter to potentially be one of several in her grade.

I think Calista is pretty and you won't have pronunciation/spelling issues with it either.

Elowen sounds like it's from Lord of The Rings to me. I like Calista, but I prefer the spelling with two l's

I'm going to go against the grain and say that I love Elowen, and I especially love the NN Winnie!  That being said, I don't dislike Calista.

I'd obviously go with Elowen, but I prefer my spelling because I pronounce it El-o-winn instead of El-o-when. We do call her Ellie.

Calista is one of my favorite names, so I love that one.  Elowen just doesn't roll off the tongue easily for me... I don't know how to explain it.
