Dilation to 4cm .. still no labor. Anyone else do this?

I am due April 2nd (so was 38 wks on Tuesday). At my midwife appt yesterday I was up to 4 cm and 2/3 effaced. (37 weeks I was 3 cm and 2 cm at 36 weeks). I did this with my DD too .. was 4cm at 34 weeks with her and over a month later she came - was 7-8cm before labor even started! Am I a freak of nature or does anyone else dilate WAY ahead of time like this? I also go early usually .. 3 wks with my DS (was never checked before so no clue if I dilated early, but my water broke to start labor), just shy of 2 weeks with my daughter.. basically where I am now.... 38wks 2 days. My children were both healthy 8 lb babies so it's fine... just strange. 

 It makes for a very long month of waiting .. and very nerve-wracking after my water broke with the first pregnancy. If water breaks and I'm already 4cm, how fast is a 3rd baby going to come? I'm thinking pretty fast!

    That's the same boat I'm in. Dilation and effacement mean nothing if you're not in labor. Just wait it out.

    4 cm is a good start though, wow! It took me frickin' forever to get to 4cm last time so I hope that you guys have easy labors when it actually does start! Only 6 to go!

    My mom was reading her baby books to me. With me she walked around at a 4 for 3 weeks before her water broke.
    All 3 kids were early. All 3 labor started with waters breaking.
    I can see how that would be unnerving.

    Thanks... I've never met anyone else who does this . As long as I don't have my water break in a public place and end up giving birth then and there I'm good. I have this fear of having the "Walmart baby": LOL. My water broke with my son -- in the childre

    I was 4 cm dialated 70 effaced at 38 weeks and DS was born at 39 w 1 d. Only knew I was in labor bc my water broke and when they hooked me up to the monitors I was having regular contractions every 23 minutes. I didn't feel them until after the doctor fin

    I'm the opposite so far. I have zero progress and then in 2 days have a baby.

    With my daughter I was 7-8 cm when labor started and I still had a 7 hour labor with her. You'd think it would go faster!
