Referral to cardiology :(

Firstly, my doctor's office rocks. I love the staff to pieces, and have been with them personally since a major medical issue left me searching for the right fit in a PCP ten years ago. When we went for his jaundice follow up and they diagnosed my hemorrhage/placenta remains issue, the office basically rallied to get him and I safely to the ER during a snowstorm, and took over fawning over my fussy baby while my doctor did all her assessment stuff. They have dubbed Colton "little porkchop", and play fight over who gets to do his stats and weight. This portion of this post has no real point other than me saying I love my doctor's office.

So, I have circulation issues, Reynaud's specifically, I get white spots all over my hands and feet, and occasionally mottle all over when too hot/too cold/upset.

I know babies mottle easily, but Colton stays pretty purple in the hands and feet all the time, and mottles up his arms and legs at the drop of a hat, and every now and then, his whole torso. We (dr included) figured I probably passed on my spastic circulation and were waiting until his 2 month visit to see if it improved any with age and him putting on some more weight.

Ended up needing to bring him in today (sounds beyond normal raspy when breathing so they did a chest xray to be safe) and when we undressed him and p!ssed him off, dr noticed the mottling gets ten times worse, which I had mentioned at one of his first appts, but she hadn't gotten to see. Soooo I'm waiting for a call now with an appointment time to go see a pediatric cardiologist to make sure the circulation issue isn't because of a heart defect, she said something about a vasovagal response because as soon as he calms he gets drowsy bordering on lethargic for a few minutes.

My doctor said even if it is, it's usually minor and something they can grow out of, but she'd just feel more comfortable having the specialist take a look and run their tests. Because of a family history of bad medical luck, I'm fearing the worst, hoping for the best, and pretty much trying not to let the fear make me freak out.

Anyone else have to deal with specialists? Anything I should ask/can expect? Anything I should be taking note of to pass along information wise?
