So all you regulars know we have been veey close to bringing Fowler home. The doc has okayed him to be released Sun as long aw he has no heartrate drops. We are so excited!!
I was wondering if anyone's LO had any issues with circumcision? He will have that tomorrow and I am worried about him not feeding well or having hr drops related to the procedures. Is this a valid concern? I have never asked for...when are we coming home.. but at our hospital the doc has to certify they are ready three days out for circ, hearing screen, and carseat test. This is why i did did not want to know! Joking mostly!
Also, before he was born I had registered for a convertible carseat rated 470 lbs and recieved it at my shower. I figured I would need and infant seat one and I was right. Of course I am ok with this because I want him to breathe well but the nicu dic mentione he may not need to be in the convertible one until he turn front facing. If he is having no respiratory issues and the seat it ratedand installed correctly can he reall not use it for that long?? Of course I will discuss this with the pedi but I just wondered what you exoerienced.
Thanks!
Re: homecoming questions
Bottom line...I registered and was gifted a convertible car seat that is rate for 4lbs to 70lbs. The NICU confirmed my suspicion that they would not allow us to
RE: your carseat question- sure, you may be able to wait until he is FF to use the convertible, but he will likely outgrow in infant bucket seat way before that. I switched to the convertible, rear-facing, when the infant seat just got too heavy to lug
As for the car seat question I think you will want an infant carrier like pp said but you will need a convertible before you use it forward facing.
