So I am in love with the name Brigham Matthew which my husband originally came up with possibly "Brigs" for short as it is a family name.

But now my husband is set on Dexter Matthew, "Dex" for short.

Our last name is Brown...thoughts? I am having a hard time giving up Brigham and accepting Dexter, even though I love "Dex"...thoughts?

I'm big on name flow, and Dex Brown sounds better to me than Brigs Brown.

If we go with Dexter he would most likely go by Dex the majority of the time.

I think Brigham however would go by the full name Brigham.

I have two strong associations with both those names that would throw them both out of the running for me. Brigham Young and Dexter Morgan, the vigilante serial killer of "Dexter."

Of the two...I would probably go with Dexter.

This is my hold up on Dexter to. Can't get past the show, even though I never watched it. As far as Brigham, I hadn't really thought of that or made that association, just happened to like the name and thought it went well with Matthew which is my DH mid
