I would love to find out more info as well; I will be in the Ashburn/Dulles area once the baby arrives. From what I have heard, it's best to ask neighbors in your area to see if they are willing to share their nanny's time with you.
Moms on the Hill listserve is apparently a great resource for those in the city. I had decent luck on DCurbanmoms and the Old Town Moms yahoo group.
