mirena- bleeding

im sure this has been brought up on here before... but i had the mirena placed early february and have had constant bleeding since. it hasnt be a lot, more like spotting. i talked to my OB she said irregular bleeding is normal not to worry. just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and how long your bleeding lasted.

I had mine inserted in early Feb 2012...I want to say I spotted off and on until mid April. Then no bleeding at all until my first PP period in December, which was so heavy that it cause the Mirena to be expelled. Fun times!

I spotted on and off the entire 7 months I had it in. I was told it's normal for 6 months, and I was willing to wait it out a little longer if I hadn't gained 40 lbs by then :-/

I didn't have any bleeding beyond a few days of minor spotting, but my OB told me that it's not unheard of to bleed for up to 6 months and that I didn't need to worry about calling her unless it was really heavy or lasted longer than 6 months.

When I had it, I bled lightly (enough to have to wear a pad) for a little over 3 months.

I had mine put in 4 years ago and I remember spotting/bleeding for months afterewards.  Sorry if this is not the news you were looking for.

I also get regular periods.
