Bath strike...help!!!

Until one month ago, my daughter was fine with baths (never liked getting her hair washed, but played with bubbles and had fun with bath toys otherwise).

Suddenly, mayhem and bloodshed when I mention baths. I want bath time to be fun, and yet nothing I have tried works. Ironically, Shelley LOVES playing in water (she even has a little doll bathtub she fills with water and she puts her squirty animals in there and gives THEM baths). So I do not know what to do...

HELP, PLEASE!!!

  • Just a few ideas, not sure if any will work.

New bath toys, the crayola color tabs that make the bath water pretty colors, let her blow bubbles in the bath tub with the bubble wand or you can blow bubbles for her, glow sticks in the bath tub with

  • Have you tried bath crayons?
  • We just finished an almost 2 month bath strike. We either did showers with one of us or we would get into the bath with him. Then one day I was able to get him in there himself and it was as if it never happened. Time was the solution for us.

  • We just went through this!  When I searched the interweb about it, turns out it's really common.  My kid conceeded to a bath seat he had at like 6 months old.  LOL  He would still jump out right after he was clean though.  Even

  • We are going through this now.  DD loves the water and has always loved bath time so I don't know why it started.  I don't push her to take a bath every day with her brother.  If she says no then I just put DS in the bath and she usually wa

  • My baby girl started doing this too and so we went back to putting her in the baby bath tub. She just barely fits, but she doesn't cry when it's bath time now. I'll go back to the regular tub in a couple of months.

  • DS has refused to take baths when he learned to stand. He showers with one of us now, which is so much easier than the fight.
