On some names, I hate the Y because it seems forced, however I have seen Robin spelled with a Y, so it doesn't seem like something you just thought up on your own in an attempt to make your baby so special and original.

Why would this one name be an exception? ETA: I did not know about the British spelling thing. I feel like a hypocrite since I like the name Emmalyn. Some people thing that that is a Y trend, but I don't think so....:P

She will correct people on spelling all the time.
Not an exception because she will have to tell people "It's Robin with a Y" when they ask her name.
That being said, I knew a Robyn growing up and I think it's not that big of a deal.
