Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Doesn't put self in sitting position

DD has been crawling since 5.5 months and started pulling to stand today, yet she still doesn't put herself in a sitting position.
I know she is super early in the other things, but anyone else have LO's that did things out of usual order like this??

  • I think that's fine.  She probably has really strong arms if she's crawling and pulling up, but maybe not as strong of a torso to get to sitting.  I think DD #1 did all three of those things within a week of each other, and DD#2 just throws me f

  • I think it's fairly common to hit milestones out of order. My cousin's baby was sitting up unassisted at 5 months, but didn't roll over at all until 7.5 months. Every baby is interested in different skills and some just aren't as important to them at the

  • For what it's worth, DS's physical therapist said that babies typically put themselves into a sitting position after learning to crawl and/or pull up. She said they basically learn that they can fall into that position.
